Nature photography is about photographing nature and landscapes to present them as natural environments. Nature photography captures natural habitats such as ocean, mountains, lakes, woods and much more. Though, it is mostly pure nature, meaning human settlements and agriculture are not the central theme but the parts of nature where the human factor is at best marginal. It can also cover places which, in the past, were heavily used by man but are now rebuilt into nature reserves. The isle of Helgoland, depicted below, is an example of how man can live as a guest in a nature reserve.
